How it was done

Eleven hundred square feet of ground floor in one material, wall to wall, with no thresholds between rooms. Wide-board luxury vinyl plank over the existing slab, after a self-levelling pour, because the slab moved nearly two inches corner to corner.

The levelling was two of the three days. Flooring itself is quick; what it sits on is not, and a floor laid over a bad slab telegraphs every dip within a season. If a quote for a floor this size does not mention levelling, it is not a quote for this floor.
